As a part of its’ commitment to serve the different segments of the society and being true to the vision of pioneering initiatives in taking the extra mile to meet the customer’s needs through continuous innovation of suitable financial products and offering the best solutions, AIMS of Bangladesh Limited has decided to design and manage a specialized mutual fund for the benefit of the investing non-resident Bangladeshis all over the globe. The fund is being conceived taking in to cognizance the distinct needs of the Diaspora community and has been aptly named as the AIMS Second Probashi Mutual Fund. It would be a value based closed-end ‘Growth Fund’, the first of its’ kind in Bangladesh and be listed with the local stock exchanges. It would also have provision of cross-border listing, as and when such listing is permitted by the regulatory authorities in the future.

AIMS of Bangladesh Limited is now engaged in extensive exploratory discussion and negotiations with some leading multinational banks having operations in Bangladesh as well as major cities overseas with high Bangladeshi Diaspora concentration, in order to devise an efficient and secure channel of subscription and investment in the fund and mechanism of other support services, including brokerage, depository and custodial arrangement for the Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) investors.

Ninety percent of the public subscription to the fund during IPO would be restricted only for NRBs and their beneficiaries residing overseas and the rest ten percent for local subscribers in Bangladesh.

The prospectus and application form of the AIMS Second Probashi Mutual Fund would be made available as and when consent from the SEC is sought and received, tentatively in the financial year of 2009-10, after all arrangements has been put in place.
