AGRANI MUTUAL FUND

AIMS of Bangladesh is the designated Asset Manager & Investment Advisor of the proposed Agrani Mutual Fund sponsored by Agrani General Insurance Company Limited (AGIC), a comparatively new listed insurance company in Bangladesh. AGIC will contribute a minimum of TK25 million for the first Scheme as the Sponsor. It would be a close-end Scheme and would therefore be listed on the local stock exchanges. The general public will have an opportunity to subscribe during the IPO where there would be a quota for Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) and SEC registered Mutual Funds. Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited (BGIC), the distinguished Trustee of the AIMS First Guaranteed Mutual Fund, the first private mutual fund in Bangladesh, has been proposed as the Trustee of the Agrani Mutual Fund while Southeast Bank Limited, a distinguished co-Sponsors of AIMS First Guaranteed Mutual Fund have been proposed as the Custodian. It is expected to be publicly launched during the financial year of 2009-10.

AIMS of Bangladesh Limited have sought registration of the Fund with the SEC in December 2008.

The Prospectus and Application Forms of the Agrani Mutual Fund would be made available as and when consent from the SEC is sought and received, tentatively during the financial year of 2009-10.
